If you’re beachy keen, our region is home to five gorgeous stretches of sand. Surfers are spoilt for choice with surfing breaks at all our beaches, but The Farm within Killalea State Park comes highly recommended.

When seeking some retail therapy or a sweet spot to grab a bite to eat, Shellharbour Village is the place to be. Located by the harbour, you’re unlikely to leave empty handed as you browse the selection of specialty boutiques. After working up an appetite, you’ll have cafes, fish and chips, Asian cuisine, pizza and more to choose from.
History
Learn about the important history of Bass Point with the self-guided Bass Point Indigenous Cultural Walk. The traditional occupation of Bass point by Aboriginal people dates back an incredible 17,000 years before present and is recognised as one of the two most important archaeological sites on the NSW coast.
For the Fishing Lovers
Great fishing spots are abundant in the area so whether you’re at the beach, Lake Illawarra or the harbour foreshore, you’ll be amazed at the variety of fish including mackerel, snapper, trevally, jewfish to name a few.
